Pulling your action plan together
The last step in your planning now is to take the development needs and translate these to specific actions and development that you will do, and by when you will do this. Consider:
- How will I get the training or experience I need (Courses, job-share, on the job training, coaching, training, education)?
- What kind of support do I need? (you know your learning style, do you need someone to nag you? Are you self-disciplined for eLearning?)
- Who will help me? (Enlist the assistance of people who already do this skill well, find a mentor, ask your boss, HR, family, friends)
- How will I reward myself when I achieve this?
